Public safety and combating violence is always a hot topic in City Hall. Louisville Metro adopted a program called Group Violence Intervention in the effort to combat the rise in violent crime. In this episode, Councilman Mark Fox (D-13), who is the Chair of the Public Safety Committee, takes a look at the program to see how it has worked in other cities and how does Louisville compare so far.

But they also play a critical role outside the downtown corridor by cleaning up, building trust, and keeping you safe. It’s a problem that still lingers in Louisville – lead poisoning. Data shows that since 2005 nearly 10,000 kids have tested positive for lead poisoning in Louisville, and the vast majority are in West Louisville. In this episode, Councilwoman Cassie Chambers Armstrong (D-8) is joined by two experts to uncover why this is still happening and what solutions are available.
