It’s back! After a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, the Riverview Independence Festival is back with a lineup of live music and fireworks that you do not want to miss! This community event celebrating Independence Day has a lot of history for South Louisville. In this episode, Councilman Rick Blackwell (D-12) and John Grantz, Media Events Inc. owner, are excited to explain how this all got started and share some of their favorite memories.

Louisville’s jail has been a major topic of discussion after several inmates have died in custody. Councilwoman Amy Holton Stewart (D-25) sits down with Daniel Johnson, the president of FOP Lodge #77, to talk about what’s being done to protect inmates and the officers moving forward. But that’s not all. The councilwoman also has an update on an ordinance she passed last year to protect animals in Louisville.
